[Before all]

This is my first time to United States (one of my dream country)!

I was so exited to be in California and to be a exchanged student in UCBerkeley!!

I arrived here with my friend Hope Chin(秦瑞均) who is also a exchange student in Berkeley on 8/19, 10 days before the classes start.

So here's what I did in these 10 days. Classes start tomorrow, I'm nervous. ><

Day 1 8/19

We took the flight from 桃園 to San Francisco. It was a 12-hour flight, so tiring.

When the plane landed, it was already 9pm in SF, and we found a nice driver who is willing to take us to Richmond, where we are going to live for this semester.

We actually got lost for a while, so when we finally found the house it was already over 11pm.

The driver was nice because he didn't charge us more for the wrong direction. xD

Hope and I have to stay in this small room together till 8/31, and then we can move to our own rooms.

This room is small but cozy.

Day2 8/20

The landlord are a Taiwanese couple 周爸爸 周媽媽, and we live with them.

They are kind and friendly.

They told us how to go to the Target, the super market nearby.(But it actually took us about 15-20min walk.)

So we went to the Bank of America to open an account here and to Target.

We passed by the park just on the MacDonald Ave and 29th Street(where our house is located)

I really like this park. It's quite big and pretty.

We bought some food and utilities in Target, and we found that the milk and soy milk taste so different from Taiwan's.

And we bought pizza hut for dinner but the pizzas were too salty.

It was a tiring day for us because we walked almost all day. I even carry a small luggage case to carry the stuff we bought. Ha!

Day 3 8/21

Time for Berkeley campus!

We took the BART to Berkeley and visited the campus.

It took us alomst an hour to get to school, it's quite time consuming><

I hope it won't take so much time once we are familiar with the route.

Anyway we walked around the south side of the campus and went to the I-house which is on the hilltop for the resource fair.

It was really tiring to walk around and "climb" up the hill.

However, the campus is pretty big and beautiful with those historical buildings and large trees around.

I felt like I was in an forest or a national park haha.

The Sather tower (or the Campanile) is the landmark of Berkeley.

It was built in 1917, and its the bell tower on campus. I like it. Gonna go up there.

Oh and we also visited the Berkeley Art Museum there, it was great! I even saw some paintings from Hoffman!!
